Fireworks

It was the boys' first time seeing big fireworks. We went to the Academy parking lot in Tomball.
I was so impressed!!! Tomball has a great fireworks show! Who knew?
We got there early and just hung out in the back of the truck until it started.
It was a perfect night and the boys LOVED the fireworks!

The whole time Micah kept saying, "I have never seen one like that before!"

What a great night! We didn't get home until 10:30pm and I was sooo
hoping the boys would slept late...but they were both up at 6:30am!
So much for sleeping in...oh well! It was worth it!

Happy 4th of July 2010!

Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July today!
We did a little celebrating last night because we are going to a friends house tonight.

Here are the boys in their shirts

Sweet brothers

Making some hotdogs

My boys LOVE sparklers!!!
They love to run with them...they ran the whole time we did sparklers!

Hope your day is great! We will have more to add after tonight...

Here are the desserts that I made to take to the party tonight.
The boys and I don't get to go...such a bummer! They haven't feel feeling well and I would hate to get someone sick. I don't know if it is allergies or a cold.
But Wes took my desserts.

Fruit pizza

And flag cupcakes, Micah had to sample one...

Let me know if you want to know how to make them...super easy and fun!

Date Night #5

So for Date Night #5...we had a Wii Game Night!
We borrowed my parents Wii to have some fun!
Here is the basket that Wes got on Friday afternoon when he came home.

Here we are about to play

Wes trying to get everything set up

It ended up being a fun night. We were both really tired and
we are both really competitive...so that kinda makes playing games together interesting.
I had to get over the fact that Wes is much better than me at most of the games,
we found that golf was the best for us to play...or I did because I could beat him.
We played bowling, tennis, golf, and baseball!
I will try and not be a poor loser next time we play...sorry honey!
It was a fun date night and we had to work together to make it fun,
which is good for strengthening our marriage. Who knew that Wii could help your marriage?

Rainy Day Fun

Because of Hurricane Alex, have had a TON of rain in Houston.
So...we made a tent and made our own inside fun.
We played and read books in the tent with flashlights.

Watched a movie and had a picnic in the tent.

And when Daddy came home he joined in on the fun...
notice we stayed in our jammies all day!!!

It was a good day, even though we got 5 inches of rain!

Girl's Night

Thursday night we had a great Girl's Night for Jenny's birthday.
Jenny is such an amazing part of all of our lives and we are going to really miss her
when she moves to California!
It was a fun night of fellowship and laughter!

With the birthday girl...I love you very much Jen!

Small Group

We have a wonderful small group!
Jenny and Tim had all of us over for one last gathering at their house.
It was a whale party.
Here is Jenny's super cute whale cake:

Jenny and Adrian

Mandy and Mayah

As you can see, the kids had a blast!

Here is our not so small, small group

And I just had to include these pictures of TJ Winter.
This was his first time to have a sucker.

I think he really likes them, what do you think?

We love each of you in our group so much!!!
We are going to miss the Winters!

GiGi and Sir

Last week we had a wonderful weekend with GiGi and Sir.
Here is the Father's Day present that we made for Sir.
I had so much fun making all this boxes for the guys in our life.
Sir loves fishing, so that is how we decorated his box and filled it with pistachios.

GiGi and Aunt Bonnie went to Africa for their 6th year in a row. They are continuing to help with the school in Ghana. God is really working through them and I am so proud of what they are doing for the people and children in Ghana. Gwynne's birthday was the day before...so the boys picked out balloons to give her at the airport.

Welcome Home GiGi!

Please don't mad at the next picture. GiGi brought these to the boys.
Don't worry...we didn't wear them on game day and we cheered for USA during the World Cup.

Enjoying some yummy watermelon!

Playing in the pool with every outside toy we own in the pool too.

Movie night with GiGi

And swimming at the neighborhood pool

Shirts that Gigi got in Ghana...aren't they pretty?

Glad you are home safe, GiGi! We love you GiGi and Sir!

Toby

Our sweet Toby got bit by a snake...we think. He wouldn't walk on his front paw at all and so we took him to the vet. When she shaved his paw it was swollen pretty big and we got some meds for him, costing us $90. Why does everything have to be so expensive? Anyway, but Toby is worth it. He is the best dog EVER! He is the boys best friend and he lets the boys do anything they want to him. He is 7 years old and a huge part of our family.
Here is Sam playing Dr. Fikes and making sure that Toby is okay. So sweet!

YUMMY!!!

Fruit Dip or Parfait

Found this awesome recipe at HowDoesShe.com and it is so yummy!!! Just thought you might like to try it. I have used it for a dip and I made Wes a fruit parfait. So good!

3 oz. cream cheese, softened

8 oz. strawberry yogurt (I’ve used other flavors with great results)

2/3 cup sugar

2 tsp. lemon juice

2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed

1/4 tsp. almond extract

Beat everything but the whipped topping until smooth, add the topping and continue beating until thick and smooth.
